BSU Celebrates Black History Month

Yesterday, February 1, 2007, the Black Student Union (BSU) kicked off a month of celebration of Black History. The event, entitled "From a Rich History to a Bright Future," was held in OH 96, featured guest speakers Walter Turner--College of Marin ethnic studies professor--and Dr. Frances White--College of Marin Superintendent/President--as well as performances by Wayne Wallace and the College of Marin Jazz Ensemble, Larry J., College of Marin student Beverly Freeman, and Azia Corbet & Company--which performed two traditional west African dances.
